So Very Happy

Hi everyone!

I thought my scrapbook mojo had left me for a while, but a great challenge, a great sketch, a great kit and a great day spent with scrappy friends definitely helped bring it all back!  And the result….a DOUBLE PAGE LAYOUT! Whoop whoop!  I’ve even managed to do some more layouts at home, which is quite the achievement for me with a very active 15 month old who really likes to pick everything up and eat it………….literally eat it.  So here is my entry for the Challenge YOURself challenge (the men in my life):

Here are some close ups of the first page:

It just involved some fussy cutting and some sequins (of course) and I found this cute little wooden owl in one of my local shops and just had to buy a pack!

The second layout is based on a sketch from Scrap 365.  Here are some close ups –

I really like this sketch, it really suited my style of scrapping.  It also allowed me to pull out one of my favourite dies from Tim Holtz which I haven’t used for a while.  I also used a film strip stencil and doodled around it rather than misting.  And of course some texture paste!

So there you have it…a double page layout about me and the men in my life!  Thanks for stopping by and here’s to scrappy mojo!

You & Me

“You & me & walks in the park…that’s what spring time is all about”

This is my layout entry into the Merly Impressions and Challenge Yourself competition (cutting it fine in both cases…I know).  There’s not much time for scrapbooking for me at the moment, a very energetic 14 month old and work and family life leaves very little time for anything else!  But hey ho….it hasn’t stopped me from taking pictures of it all so when I do manage to find some time, at least I’ll have hundreds (yes hundreds…) of pictures to choose from!

Here is my layout….

You & Me

The Merly Challenge has a spring theme this month, and I just loved these pictures of me and my little boy going for a walk in Sherwood forest on one of the first sunny days in spring!  I used the sketch from Challenge Yourself, where the aim of the game was motherhood and any females in your life.  There’s not too many females in my life but for me this is what motherhood is all about, spending time with my little boy, who is my best achievement so far!  Here is the sketch:

Mummy’s Love

Happy Easter to everyone! And a long weekend means I get to catch up on all the lovely blogs I love to read and post something of my own.  So today I’m sharing a layout I made for the Merly Impressions and Challenge Yourself challenges.  Over at Merly, the challenge is to use dies, die-cuts or punches, which is a great challenge because let’s be honest…who doesn’t have an abundance of dies and punches lying around waiting to be used?  And Challenge Yourself is asking us to create something using trendy products in the scrapbooking world right now.  No problem there (I say over-confidently!)!

Mummy’s Love

Mummy's Love

Sooooo, where do I start?  I’ve used a couple of different border punches on some of the papers in the middle.  I also used some dies to make the butterflies and and a part of the title.  And from what I can tell, it would seem as though stencilling, washi tape and doodling seem to be in fashion right now.

I doodled around a part of the title, which really made the difference for it to stand out.  I also used a combination of distress ink and an old inkpad which I rubbed through my new favourite Tim Holtz stencil! Add some washi tape, gems, a couple of flower embellishments, a lovely rub on from Kaisercraft and voilà…layout done!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the last of your Easter eggs!

Exciting New Challenge Blog!

I really enjoy browsing through different blogs, and find it such a great way of sharing creative ideas with people all around the world.  BUT (there’s always one isn’t there?) I’m quite picky when it comes to blogs which I actually follow…purely because there are just so many brilliant ones I could quite easily sit ALL day!  So when I find a great new challenge blog which really appeals to my creative juices…I have to press the follow button!

I love the idea of this new blog called Challenge Yourself, the have a DT call and a nifty little give away too! Check it out here:

I scrolled through some of the snaps on my phone and out of the 500+ photos of my little boy, I feature in all of about 10!  So….here’s to making an effort to come out from behind the camera and capture some memories and of me and my boys together!
